Activities

The Clunes Artists Group meets on the second Saturday of each month to mingle, discuss art and promote artistic opportunities in Clunes and the region. We have members from as far afield as Ballarat, Talbot and Evansford.

We invite you to come along to our next Saturday meeting at Clunes Neighbourhood House (at the Bottle Museum, 70 Bailey Street Clunes), and learn more about our group. Come along to share ideas or news with our group or talk about your own artwork. Or tell us about an art form you have always wanted to try!

Our group has a diverse range of skills. The group is composed of painters, watercolour artists, sculptors, sketch artists, ceramicists, textile artists, printers, embroiderers, and mosaic artists, and more! The Clunes Artists Group holds workshops from time to time, so that members can get together and share the fun of trying a new art form.

Words in Winter Festival 2016

The Clunes Artists Group hold an annual exhibition in Clunes to showcase their artwork, as part of the Words in Winter Festival. A range of prizes are offered for different categories of artwork. All members are welcome to take part.

The exhibition is held in August. More information can be found on the Words in Winter website, www.wordsinwinter.com.

Booktown 2015

The Clunes Artists Group exhibited a group artwork at Clunes Booktown again this year, the 'Continuous Line' project. Last year we created a Wunderkabinet, composed of many artworks contained within drawers and cabinets, all joined into one fascinating large artwork. Both artworks were very well received by guests at Booktown.

History

The Clunes Artists Group was started by Kate Edwards over ten years ago, in 2004. For about the last five years, the group continued to grow under the able direction of Marlene and Liz. The group is under new management in 2015 but will continue its popular activities.
